The King James version is probably the most accurate of all translations. A little more challenging though, because of the old English. The New King James version is easier because of the more modern English. The New International version (NIV) is OK, but there are a lot of paraphrasing that may sometimes mask some critical insights.

Explanation of punctuations:

The Chapter-numbers of each book are followed by colons, while verse-numbers are followed by commas. The chapter is closed by a semi-colon. For example;

1. Genesis 1:1-27,29,31; refers to chapter 1, verses 1 to27, plus 29 and 31.
2. Isaiah 11:6-9; 45:18-25; refers to chpt. 11, vrs. 6 to 9 & chpt 45, vrs 18 to 25
3. 1 Corinthians 1: 18-21; 2; refers to chpt 1, vrs. 18-21 & chpt. 2
